The BMW 3 Series is offered in three different powertrains. First, its base Trim 330i and 330i xDrive are powered by a 2.0-litter four-cylinder engine that generates a power of 255 HP and 295 lb-ft of Torque. And all BMW 3 Series sports sedan trims have an eight-speed automatic transmission and a rear-wheel or all-wheel drive (xDrive) drivetrain.

Seconds, its 330e and 330e xDrive is a plug-in hybrid trim powered by a 2.0 twin-turbo four-cylinder engine with an integrated electric motor, generating a power of 288 HP and 258 lb-ft of Torque.

The third powertrain is the most potent powertrain of the BMW 3 Series, which comes with its top trims, M340i and M340i xDrive, which are powered by a 3.0-litter inline six-cylinder engine with a 48-Volt mild hybrid system that generates a max power of up to 382 HP and 369 lb-ft of Torque. 2024 BMW 3 Series MPG

BMW offers the BMW 3 Series with multiple powertrain options, featuring three different powertrains, each paired with either a front or all-wheel drivetrain. As a result, the fuel economy rating of each model varies based on their powertrains and drivetrains.

For example- the most fuel-efficient model, the 330e plug-in hybrid, achieves an excellent fuel economy of 73 MPGe when equipped with a front-wheel drive drivetrain. When paired with an all-wheel drive drivetrain, it still maintains a commendable fuel economy rating of 68 MPGe.

The other gasoline models in the BMW 3 Series lineup also offer good fuel efficiency. The BMW 330i models, when paired with a front-wheel drive drivetrain, deliver a fuel economy of 25 MPG in the city and 34 MPG on the highway. However, when equipped with an all-wheel drive drivetrain, their fuel economy slightly decreases to 24 MPG in the city and 33 MPG on the highway.

As for the top model M340i, it provides a fuel economy of 23 MPG in the city and 31 MPG on the highway when equipped with a front-wheel drive drivetrain. With an all-wheel drivetrain, its fuel economy lowers slightly to 23 MPG in the city and 32 MPG on the highway.
