2024 Kia EV9 Motor, Power, Performance

The lineup for the EV9 begins with the Standard model, which is a rear-wheel-drive vehicle that comes equipped with a single electric motor located at the back that produces 215 horsepower. The Long Range version is also rear-wheel drive, but despite having a larger battery, its maximum power output decreases to 201 horsepower. According to Kia, the Standard model will take 8.2 seconds to reach 62 mph, while the Long Range version will require 9.4 seconds.

For all-wheel-drive models, a dual-motor configuration is used to generate a total of 379 horsepower, and the available Boost mode enhances the peak torque output to deliver faster acceleration. Kia claims that the AWD EV9 will achieve 62 mph in just 5.3 seconds, making it the preferred option for individuals who desire the quick acceleration that electric vehicles are well-known for.

In 2025, a performance-focused GT model will be introduced to the lineup, which could produce as much as 576 horsepower.

2024 Kia EV9 Range, Charging Time, and Battery

The base model, known as the Standard model, is equipped with a 76.1-kWh battery pack. In contrast, the Standard Long Range model and all-wheel-drive models come with a larger 99.8-kWh pack. It is anticipated that the larger battery pack will provide a driving range of roughly 280 miles per charge. However, it is important to note that the all-wheel-drive variant with the dual-motor system may not achieve a similarly extended range.

All EV9 models are designed with Kia’s 800-volt electrical architecture, which enables rapid battery recharging with DC fast chargers. According to reports, this type of connection can provide up to 149 miles of range in as little as 15 minutes.
