Tesla will deliver more than 500,000 electric vehicles in Quarter 4 2022

Tesla plans to increase its vehicle manufacturing and delivery by 50% year over year. And many people believe that she will also be successful in doing so. However, the year 2022 has not been easy for other automakers and on the other hand Tesla has a lot of orders. According to an analytics, Tesla is on track to deliver more than 5 lakh electric vehicles in Q4 2022.

As we mentioned earlier, Choudhary tours Tesla‘s factories and tracks production and deliveries. He uses the visits to gain a handle on factory productivity compared to previous visits, as well as to note any issues, concerns or constraints that may be limiting successful production efforts.

Chowdhary’s recent visit to Tesla’s original factory in Fremont, California, left him with few details, which made him confident about the forecast for deliveries of more than 500,000 cars in the next quarter. At this point, we have no idea how many electric vehicles Tesla will deliver in Q3 2022, so estimating Q4 2022 deliveries is a difficult task. This is especially true because Tesla does not provide the same detailed production and delivery reports as most automakers.

According to Teslarati, Choudhury isn’t the only analyst to visit Tesla’s factories and make similar estimates. Jorge Gianaricas of Canaccord Genuity also visited and came to many similar conclusions.

Chowdhury pointed to the workforce’s work effort, longer hours, working holiday weekends and the overall deadline for Tesla’s production, which he said is at least 10 percent more efficient than the previous quarter. He also pointed out that Tesla is ramping up production and delivery of its Model S Plaid.

The analyst revealed that CEO Elon Musk is once again sleeping at the factory. This time around, Musk spent three nights at Tesla’s new Gigafactory and headquarters in Austin, Texas. Finally, Chowdhary notes that when he was visiting Giga Texas, a Model Y crossover-laden car carrier was leaving the factory on September 1. Below are the most up-to-date Q4 2022 delivery estimates via Teslarati from Chowdhary:

Looking back, Tesla delivered about 310,000 EVs in Q1 2022 and some 255,000 in Q2 2022. This adds up to about 565,000 of the ~1.5 million cars Tesla aims to deliver in 2022, with some 935,000 yet to be delivered. According to Chowdhary’s estimate, 511,000 Tesla vehicles were delivered in the fourth quarter of 2022, which means the automaker will have to deliver about 424,000 EVs in the third quarter of 2022.
