Volkswagen will update five of its cars for the 2025 model year

Volkswagen has revealed the changes coming to its lineup for the 2025 model year, and they are quite extensive. While the Atlas and ID.4 remain mostly unchanged from their 2024 updates, the Jetta, Taos, Tiguan, Golf GTI, and Golf R will all receive refreshes.

Details on these updates are still limited, as most of the models have not been unveiled for the American market yet. However, it has been announced that the Jetta and Jetta GLI will be getting updates in the second quarter of 2024, the Taos will receive a major refresh in the third quarter of 2024, and the new third-generation Tiguan will debut for the 2025 model year.

On the hot hatch side, both the Golf GTI and Golf R will undergo a mid-cycle update. While specifics are not yet official, it is expected that the European updates, including new styling, cabin technology, and increased power, will likely make their way to the American market for 2025.

The updated Golf R will come with a subtly refreshed exterior, similar interior changes to the GTI, and a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing 329 horsepower.

In addition, the crossovers that were updated for 2024 will also see minor changes. All Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport models will now come standard with a 15-watt wireless device charger and Light Assist technology. The SEL Premium R-Line trim levels will receive additional features, including a massage function for front passengers, and new color options will be available.

New for 2025 is the ID. Buzz, featuring a longer design and three rows of seats. Pricing and specifications for this model will be announced later, with sales expected to start in the fourth quarter of the year.

Most of Volkswagen’s 2025 models will also come with an available voice assistant with ChatGPT integration. Pricing and launch timing for the 2025 range will be announced at a later date, with some models expected to reach showrooms in September and others in early 2025.
